Meet Dr. Shannon Morey

Dr. Shannon Morey grew up right here in North Alabama. A native of Huntsville and a graduate of Grissom High School, she left for college and came back to care for the community she knows best. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the Auburn University Honors College before graduating from the UAB School of Dentistry.

Advancing the profession matters to her. Dr. Morey participates in materials research in the Biomaterial Department at UAB, testing the new dental materials that make restorations stronger, safer, and more natural looking. That interest in getting the details right shows up chairside, where she treats general, preventive, and restorative needs for patients ages 13 and up in our Madison, AL practice.

What our team notices most about her is how quickly patients relax around her. She has a gift for establishing rapport, and she is especially attentive to anyone carrying dental anxiety. If it has been a long time since your last appointment, or a past experience left you dreading the chair, you will find no judgment from her. She will explain what she sees, walk you through your options, and let you decide what happens next. For patients who want extra support, nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation are available.

Dr. Morey is passionate about dentistry and about the relationships that come with it. Many of the patients she sees today will still be her patients in ten years, and that long view is exactly what she wants; it lets her catch small problems early and keep your smile healthy for the long haul.

Outside the office, Dr. Morey is a wife and mom. She enjoys being outdoors with her husband, Chris, their daughter, and her Brittany Spaniel, Nala. She loves coffee, gluten-free sweets, and relaxing at the lake.
